Portia de
Portia Lee James DeGeneres (also called Portia de Rossi) is a popular Australian as well as an American actor, model and an philanthropist. She changed her name legally when she was 15, and adopted an identity she liked "Portia" in honor of the Shakespearean character in the play 'The Merchant of Venice.' Portia thinks that this is the most risky choice she's ever made. According to her, an internal conflict over her sexual orientation was the main reason she chose to choose the name. Portia started her career in film through a romantic comedy drama titled 'Sirens' in which she starred alongside Hugh Grant. Portia has starred in many American TV films, including 'Too Something', 'Nick Freno's Licensed Teacher', Arrested Development", and Better Off Ted.
